Two years ago today, just 9 1/2 months before opening his eyes in heaven, Caleb took pen to paper and wrote a poem. It was a cry from his heart. It is now inscribed on our hearts. It is a story of struggle. And a story of overcoming.
Beyond a Shadow of a Doubt
Wandering alone
Lost along the road
Little did he know – the weary soul
Just nigh yonder up the way
There lay
A travelers’ abode.
Onward with a groan
Haggard to the bone
Progress of the pilgrim, broken through
I was, would not be stopped
Nor blocked
By any man, alone.
Lightning flashing all about
Torrents crashed ‘pon the ground
A distant light afar – his only hope
Aliken to a star – salvation shone
His moan,
Was answered with a shout!
A helping hand reached out
A rescue strong and stout
Beseeched upon the man for food and drink
The warmth of hearth was granted by a friend
Saved then
Beyond a shadow of a doubt

This poem is really striking and like every truth that is told, creates its own beauty and melody just based on what is true, just, and lovely….The poem is simple, but my heart always leaps when I hear it or read it. It cries, “Yes! Yes!! I can see it….keep walking, Pilgrim.” May Caleb be surrounded by love and light in the eternal realms.
This is beautiful Rachel. Thank you so much! ❤️
This is stunning. What a glimpse into such a mighty, precious soul, and what an assurance that He is in a place of such safety.
Yes! Close to the heart of his Savior and friend. ❤️
